No matter where you are on your journey of data protection we have you covered. Whether it’s a Subject Access Request review, assessing existing data protection processes, policy review, Data transfer, data breaches and cyber security or having a DPO for independent viewpoint and guidance we are here to support you all the way through.

Data Protection Services

Our qualified assessors will work with you to help ensure your Data Subjects rights are covered.

We provide bespoke training services based on your own policies and procedures to make sure everyone gets the message.

Not all businesses can resource an in-house DPO. We can fill that role to let you get on with your business; advising compliance with regular guidance meetings.

The UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) was implemented in the UK post-Brexit in 2021. If you need help to maintain your Data Protection obligations we're here to guide you through your compliance goals.

Gap Analysis

An effective method of determining your organisations current level of alignment with UK GDPR and DPA 2018 is to conduct a gap analysis. The analysis will identify the necessary steps required to assess the maturity of your UK GDPR compliance alignment and allow you to determine where your priorities lie in terms of actions. In addition, this will enable you to have a clearer understanding, in order to plan/budget the costs and benefits of the decisions you make.

The UK GDPR is clear that your first responsibility is to your data subjects; these are the young people in care, your staff, your foster carers including prospects, employees and your suppliers. They have fundamental rights to be informed of how and why you manage their information, what their rights are and how to exercise those rights. Education for employees at all levels is critical to ensure that they fully understand their obligations to data subjects when they manage information on behalf of the organisation.

DPO Role

The main role of the data protection officer (DPO) is to ensure that the organisation processes the personal data of its staff, customers, providers or any other individuals (also referred to as data subjects) in compliance with the applicable data protection laws.

The role can be assigned to an employee of the organisation that has the requisite skills, independence and knowledge of data protection law. If your organisation cannot fulfil the role, Guardian Saints can offer the DPO as a service and provide independent guidance.

GDPR Staff Training

All staff that manage personal information must be trained regularly to ensure that data handling procedures, subject rights requests and general cyber security are understood

and become embedded into the corporate ways of working.

Our Data Protection and Cyber Security Awareness sessions are built around our social care and charity knowledge providing focused and relevant training.

GDPR Guidance

We specialise in the provision of UK GDPR and Cyber Security assessments for the fostering sector. The UK GDPR has significant impacts on Independent Foster Agencies, which may affect how they manage data, such as; how data is processed by foster carers and how cared for children manage data privacy in their own right.

The Information Commissioner has been clear about the importance of organisations that handle 'special categories of personal information’ such as Independent Fostering Agencies, to ensure the rights of data subjects are met.

With trained UK GDPR assessors via the IASME scheme, Guardian Saints is working with Independent Fostering Agencies to help raise compliance maturity levels and effect change where it is needed.
