Training is a three hour long, onsite course based on results of our 2016 carer survey and covers those areas that carers told us are important to them. This includes policy essentials such as data protection and where,
when and how to report when things have gone wrong.
We discuss apps, livestreaming and games, the issues that can come up and where to find more information about them. Other topics include an introduction to the
Dark Web; a look at Google & YouTube settings and discussion of filters & parental controls.
‘Safeguarding in the Digital World - What you need to know!’ is provided FREE
for all those looking after Children & Young People in Care throughout Suffolk.
This includes Foster Carers, Special Guardians, Respite Carers, Kinship Carers & Emergency Duty Team Carers resident in the Suffolk area, plus those outside of Suffolk but looking after Children & Young People on behalf of Suffolk Childrens’ Services. Those carers working with Independent Fostering Agencies can use the form below, whilst those working directly with Suffolk County Council may use either the form below or can book through the normal CPD online system.
‘Safeguarding in the Digital World - What you need to know!’ brings you right up to date with all you need to know as Foster Carers to keep yourselves, and the young people you look after, safer in this digital
world.
